Downtown Phoenix

Downtown Phoenix is the smallest of the working corridors. The downtown core has grown over the last decade, light rail, a handful of newer towers, the Roosevelt Row arts district, but it still empties out after work hours on weekdays and stays quiet on weekends. The hotel base is the Westin Phoenix Downtown, the Sheraton Grand Phoenix, the Renaissance, and the Kimpton Hotel Palomar. Convention weeks at the Phoenix Convention Center are the main demand driver.

Rates sit at the mid-market band, similar to Tempe. Providers who work this corridor regularly are usually splitting their week between downtown convention business and Scottsdale resort outcall. For a visiting client without convention business in the corridor, downtown is rarely the right base, the Camelback resort properties are 15 minutes north and a full tier nicer.
